About This Project

The GAPS (German-American Political Science) conference is an established international academic gathering, with the 2020 edition hosted at Goethe University Frankfurt. The conference required a digital platform that could serve multiple functions simultaneously: a public-facing promotional site, an abstract submission and peer review portal, and a full delegate registration and payment system.

Rather than using three separate tools, the entire conference workflow was integrated into a single, cohesive website. Academics could browse the conference programme, submit paper abstracts for editorial review, track the status of their submissions, register as delegates, and pay conference fees — all without leaving the platform.

The design communicates academic prestige while maintaining clear usability for an international audience navigating complex submission workflows. This project demonstrates the ability to architect sophisticated multi-functional platforms that serve distinct user groups — authors, reviewers, and attendees — within a single system.
