Moving Cultures: Transcultural Encounters

About This Project
Moving Cultures: Transcultural Encounters is an interdisciplinary university course and research programme exploring cultural exchange, migration, and transcultural identity in historical and contemporary contexts. The existing website had become visually dated and lacked the functionality needed to support the programme's growing digital communication needs.
The project involved a complete visual redesign of the existing site, bringing it in line with current design standards and the programme's evolving identity. Beyond aesthetics, the brief called for a significant functional addition: an integrated secure forum platform for students, course mentors, and staff to communicate, share resources, and collaborate.
The forum was built with a carefully designed permission architecture separating student groups, mentor access, and staff areas, while maintaining a unified platform experience. The result is a website that functions both as a public course showcase and as a private, structured communication environment for programme participants — a blend of public-facing design and private community infrastructure.
What I Did
Complete website redesign & rebuild, new visual identity, integrated student forum with permission-based access control.
